'A Night of Joy Event:' Rachel Joy Baribeau to be at TCHS

Former Tuscaloosa News online reporter Rachel Joy Baribeau is returning to Tuscaloosa County High School on Nov. 8 for 'A Night of Joy Event.'

It will be the former sportscaster and Heisman voter's second time at TCHS this year, previously speaking in January of 2023. This time, though, the best-selling author will be bringing her book "Relentless Joy," which she released in June 2023.

Baribeau speaks on behalf of her foundation, I'm Changing the Narrative, which she began in 2015. The mission of her foundation, as stated on her website, "is to promote positive mental health and GOOD love for yourself and others to serve as inspiration for students, professionals and parents to create an individual legacy of purpose, passion and platform."

The free event, which is family-friendly, will be from 7-8 p.m. in the TCHS gymnasium. There will be a VIP meet and greet from 6-7 p.m., where those who make a donation of $30 or more to Baribeau's foundation will be able to attend and partake in a book signing, take pictures with Baribeau and more.

"I'm going to speak, we're going to have some music," Baribeau said. "It is just going to be the most joyful, amazing night. Who doesn't need more joy? Especially at the holidays. I'm just really thrilled to come back to Tuscaloosa."

Baribeau has previously spoken about Changing the Narrative at the University of Missouri, the University of Toledo and Texas Christian University, amongst others. She will be speaking to an NFL team, the Jacksonville Jaguars, for the first-time next Wednesday.
